Jonathan was working in the "Coffe-Bean", a coffee house right on the Sunset Strip in the middle of Hollywood. This is the reason we called him "Coffee-Bean-Jonathan", to differ him to other Jonathans, not the rarest name ...

Being a Canadien citizen, working in Hollywood was and is a great and useful life experience for him - and increased the traffic in the Coffee-Bean significantly. Having a good reference as a service person on the "Sunset Strip" will help you coming up in any service area - world-wide.

Being in Hollyoowd, the idea of getting into the modeling or acting industry ("the industry", as they say here), is not far away. Without a descent portfolio it is nearly impossible to get any where. So I met Jonathan in Sep. '99 for a test shoot, mainly for the purpose of head shots (this is why the variety of the picture settings is somewhat limited).

Looking for a location, we drove the steep and not well-in-shape narrow streets up to the Hollywood hills, until we found accidentally a (severly guarded) "private" tennis and recreation park. With friendly permission of the area manager we were allowed to shoot.

Private, by the way means in the US that you need to be a (paying) member to get in. The opposite public does only mean that everyone
can join - but you still have to pay, in most cases ...

It is easy to see that Jonathan has a native Indian background. His well-defined high cheek bones, together with his brilliant straight teeth, give him a very appealing smile.

Privately, he is calm and charming. If he doesn't give out coffee, Jonathan reads literature, world-literature. "Calm, charming, reading" - what is he doing in L.A.?, one could ask ...
