I am still getting the kindest comments about Robbie, one of the most popular MalePerceptions models; although I was not very experienced at that time, didn't have professional equipment and didn't even apply make-up on the models those days. And I had just seen Robby once before the shoot. Robby was 17 years old (!) by that time.
 
 
 

However, if one has such a charming smile, a worked-out body and "American looks", then you hardly can fail, even as an amateur photographer.

I got to know Robby in July 1998 in Berlin. He watched some artists on the "Street of June 17th".
 
 

Robby has a perfect work-out and goes to the gym almost daily - still not common in Germany. However, Robby doesn't do this just to get a steel-hard body for optical reason; he is doing a sport called paddling and working out is a part of this. Do his team collegues all look like him?

Never mix paddling from rowing, he said: You paddle forward, but row backward.
 
 
 

Robby, alone and with his team, has won several competitions. He is multiple master of Berlin and I think German vice-master. In his room in the east part of Berlin he has a huge shelf full of cups.

Unfortunately, paddling is not very popular and so not very well known, at least in Germany. There is not much money to make or win, not even from sponsors. He just does if for fun. His main profession is learning how to build boats.
 
 
 

Robby is definitely one of the nicest and most natural models. Considering his looks and his body you wouldn't be suprised if this guy shows attitude. But not even a little.

I am asked often whether his parents or ancestors are from the USA. But no, he and his parents have been born and raised in the GDR, the former socialist German country.
