October 1999 - I am staying 4 weeks in Los Angeles now.
My main profession is software developing (or just "programming", but this sounds so cheap) at U.C.L.A. (University of California in Los Angeles). I am currently (Jan 2000) living at Vista Street in Hollywood, between Sunset Blvd and Hollywood Blvd, near Fairfax. To get to work, I have to drive Sunset all the way from Fairfax until Westwood, about 6 miles. 6 miles sounds a long distance, but on a map of Los Angeles its a line that is close to a point - LA is just soooo big.

One morning I was again annoyed by the congestion due to slow-drivers in the left lane .Then I saw this handsome guy at the bus-station with the sunglasses. Even with his sunglasses I knew that I needed to work with him. So I made a left at the next crossing, drove back, tried to find a parking space and walked to the bus-station. This all took me more than 10min,  but - thanks to the Los Angeles public transportation system - he was still sitting there. To make a long story short: his name is Ty, he wasraised in Hawaii, we meet some days later, here are the results of our first shoot.
 

Shooting with Ty is pure fun. His smile is just awesome. He has perfect white teeth, a symmetric yet little roundish face and great hair. Ty origins from Hawaii, learns playing the guitar professionally, and loves to surf.  Doesn't he look like a California surfer? Being from Hawaii, he always complains that the sea in Southern California is too cold (!). The Hawaiian people seem to be even more spoiled than the Californians ... :-)
 

The pictures were taken in Franklin Canyon (Beverly Hills) and at Malibu beach. 

Currently (Dec 1999), Ty stays in Hawaii, to celebrate Christmas and New Years 2000 (Y2K) with his family. He promised to come back tanned and worked out - the sun is shining in Hawaii and in Los Angeles during the winter, too - and we want to do another shoot in January 2000.
